District and Invoice Info

Line 1 on your invoice:  2026 District Sewer Operating & Capital Reserve Fee.  The SW Suburban Denver Water and Sanitation District has been in operation for over 40 years, making ongoing maintenance and infrastructure repairs critical to keeping the system functioning reliably and preventing disruptions to customers’ sewer service.

Line 2 on your invoice: 2026 Metro Wastewater Pass-Through Fee.  This is a pass-through (meaning no markup) to customers for their sewer treatment service from Metro Recovery.  The flat rate per residential customer is determined using the prior year’s average annual water usage (AAWU) provided by Denver Water for both single family and multi-family customer types. The District’s expenditures projected for the ensuing year including Metro’s sewage treatment charges are then allocated proportionally to the District’s customers based on the portion of the District’s total AAWU attributable to the District’s single family and multi-family customers. 

The 2026 annual single-family rate has increased by $68. This adjustment reflects the District’s need to strengthen reserves and carry out necessary infrastructure maintenance throughout the year.

2. How often are you going to bill me? 

The District bills its customers annually in February.

 

3. Can I pay my bill with a credit card? 

Yes you can. 

 

4. I have sold my home, how do I change service?

5. I rent my home, am I responsible for the fees? 

It depends on your agreement with your landlord. If you are

responsible for paying our bill, please see New Customers.
